1st & 2nd class will take part in ukulele lessons following the success of the programme in 2023/2024 with 2nd & 3rd class.
The ukulele, in particular, is an excellent instrument for kids. It’s small, easy to learn, and a great introduction to music theory and rhythm. Children who learn to play an instrument develop improved concentration, coordination, and memory skills. Music also helps with creativity and self-expression, giving kids a fun way to explore their emotions and build confidence.
Studies have shown that playing an instrument can even enhance academic performance, particularly in maths and reading, as it strengthens problem-solving and pattern recognition skills. Plus, learning an instrument like the ukulele can be a great social activity, helping kids bond with others through music and teamwork.
