Creative Clusters is a pilot initiative of the Department of Education and Skills, led by and in partnership with the Association of Teacher Education Centres Ireland (ATECI).

Each school cluster has access to a specialist facilitator, artist or creative expertise in whatever their own chosen area of interest or theme might be. These resources help the schools build a programme of learning and activities tailor-made for the students.

Here’s what we’ve been involved in over the last while:

Junior and senior infants were delighted to welcome the juniors and seniors from Killaloe Boys’ School for a really fun STEAM activity today. The excitement didn’t stop there as 1st and 2nd class returned the visit to the Boys School where they made some really creative and inventive creatures.

January 2025

Junior and Senior Infants really enjoyed coming together this month with Junior and Seniors from the Killaloe Boys School to learn about Homes.
Both classes went for walk together around Killaloe to find different examples of homes around our town. They saw examples of apartments, terraced houses, semi-detached houses and more.
The girls then visited the boys school for a STEAM activity – creating structures using spaghetti and marshmallows. Not an easy task but the children did brilliantly!
